Yoga & Meditation :-

Yoga is a physical and spiritual union between the mind and body that often includes philosophies echoing themes in 12-Step programs (i.e., belief in a higher power, prayer, meditation, humility, spiritual awakenings, and surrender). Yoga is a practice that combines physical activity and physical postures, breathing, awareness, mindfulness, and meditation. It has gained popularity in the West in recent years after having been an Eastern practice for thousands of years. In addition to prompting relaxation, yoga supports a lifestyle of calmness, mindfulness, and self-comparison. The result of such a centering practice is a renewed mind, realization, and grounded emotions.

Mind-body practices like yoga have been shown to decrease stress and anxiety and contribute to an overall sense of well-being, with reports of these changes occurring after just one session. For individuals in recovery from an addiction to alcohol or other drugs, this ancient Indian system of healthcare can quickly imbue hope that a return to wellness is achievable. We know that individuals exposed to stress are more likely to abuse substances or relapse into active drug use. We also know that there is a high prevalence of substance use and dependence among people with mood and anxiety disorders.

People with anxiety battle thoughts in their mind that deal with the past or future. At times, these thoughts are racing and negative in nature, prohibiting people from concentrating and feeling at ease. Mindfulness meditation, a mental training practice, helps patients slow down their thoughts, calm their minds and bodies, and focus on the present.

Mindfulness Meditation :-

This type of meditation is usually practiced in a peaceful, quiet setting while sitting in a comfortable position. The practice of mindfulness involves focusing your attention on the present moment. As your mind relaxes, it allows feelings and thoughts to flow freely. Your goal is to observe your feelings and thoughts without engagement or judgment.

Mantra Meditation :-

A mantra is a simple phrase, sound, or word that you continually repeat during meditation. It can be said out loud or silently to yourself. This type of meditation helps you to achieve clarity and stillness as it calms the mind, reduces stress, and provides a deeper relaxation. It is important to find a mantra that you are comfortable with and that allows you to focus.

Breathing Meditation :-

The purpose of this type of meditation is to develop inner peace and calm the mind. It is usually done while sitting in a comfortable position with eyes closed. As you breathe, concentrate on each breath as you inhale and exhale. Breathe deeply and slowly. Stay focused on your breathing as you relax your muscles. If your mind starts to wander from the present, bring it back by refocusing on your breathing.

Guided Meditation :-

Guided meditation involves a facilitator that guides you through a visualisation exercise. You sit in a relaxed position with your eyes closed and take several relaxing deep breaths. The facilitator takes you through a scenario as you use your imagination to feel various states such as happiness, peace, connection, or growth. This type of meditation helps you to explore your inner feelings, thoughts, and reactions.

Moving Meditation :-

Not all types of meditation involve sitting still. Moving meditation involves practicing mindfulness while engaging in focused movement. You can practice in your own home or in a peaceful place outdoors, such as near a lake, or in a garden, park, or forest. at our rehab, we give conducive atmosphere to the addicts so that they can concentrate and relieve their mind from anxiety and depression.

In general, meditation helps promote a sense of inner peace and calm, increases self-awareness, improves mental functioning, and helps the person detach from thoughts and impulses, which can help reduce cravings and prevent relapse.
